Leadership has been variously defined. At Clement Ashley Consulting we have a holistic view of leadership. We understand that leadership has many contexts, different domains, requires different skills for different situations. Good leaders have certain traits in common, bad leaders have theirs too. Given this multiplicity of leadership facets, what is leadership?

To answer this question for each individual and each organization, we ask and seek answers to six basic questions:

  • Where are we right now and where should we be going?
  • What do we need to do to get there?
  • When should we move?
  • How do we know that we are going in the right direction or that we have arrived?
  • Why should we move?
  • Who can get us moving and keep us moving?

We recognize that Leadership is a mindset and that this mindset and the supporting values and traits should be dispersed as widely as possible throughout the organisation. Really successful organisations have leaders at every level of the organisation.
